The cult-favorite brand Topicals which has been heavily featured in top beauty and business publications including BOF, Allure and Forbes has a pretty formidble founder behind them.
Olamide Olowe is a 26-year old nigerian-born Black woman who has created Topicals as a product to combat hyper-pigmentation and discoloration in darker skin tones. The brand has been heavily featured on sponsored posts on tiktok and other social media platforms including instagram and within beauty industry focused publications.
The affordable 20+ product line includes their newest launch the Faded Under Eye Masks and their hero product Faded which is a brightening and clearing serum.
While the series funding is formidable and has lead to a great advantage for both the founder and the brand, there is a larger question that remains when it comes to funding and the amount that Black-women receive versus their white counterparts.
Nonetheless we’re thrilled for Olamide and are excited to see the great things to come!
