Sad Girls Club was founded in 2017 by Elyse Fox after releasing a documentary about her life struggling with depression. After releasing the intimate and deeply personal project Elyse shares she received an outpouring of love and support from other Black women and women identifying persons of color. Since then she has built a platform of community which lives both online and person. The Sad Girls club partners with therapists and community organizations to provide free mental health resources to those that may be struggling. Presently, the Sad Girls club has members across 5 continents and 40 countries.
